Do you know someone in the club who's gone above and beyond this year? Nominate them for Club Rockhound of the Year! Nominations are due by July 15 and the winners will be celebrated at our Annual WSMGS Membership meeting. Plus, Club Rockhounds of the Year could be nominated for Wyoming State Rockhound of the Year, and if selected, their name will be sent to the RMFMS for the AFMS Club Rockhound of the Year program. The lucky winner will be recognized at the AFMS Annual Convention. Don't miss the chance to honor those who truly rock our world!
The Riverton Mineral and Gem Society Inc. (RMGS) in Riverton, Wyoming, is a non-profit organization of people of all ages and experience levels who share a love of minerals and rockhounding. The club holds monthly educational meetings during the winter months and hosts multiple outings each month in the summer to explore Wyoming for specific minerals.
There is a minimal fee for annual individual or family club membership, but there are no charges to go on club-led outings. You do not have to be a resident of Wyoming to join the RMGS. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER TO GO ON CLUB OUTINGS!
Some trips will have additional expenses if there are fees associated with a location (such as finding fish fossils in a private quarry in Kemmerer, Wyoming). The club hosts an annual silent auction fundraiser in February of each year to help defray costs of meeting space rental, and RMGS holds an annual club Christmas party in December.
We invite you to come to a meeting or a field trip and experience the thrill of finding your own mineral treasures! For more information email website moderator Molly Fauth at kaleidoscope.gemstones@gmail.com and make sure to visit our Facebook page.
NOTE:You must be a dues-paying member in 2024 in order to go on 2024 field trips. Cost is $10 for individuals and $15 for families.
Attention, club members! Please submit your nominations for Rockhound of the Year to recognize someone who has made outstanding contributions to our club. Nominations are due by June 15.
